At Cortijo Cañada Honda we have 3 stunning Self Catering Cave Houses (Casas Cuevas) available for short, medium or long term rent. Perfectly situated in the centre of the Alti Plano midway between the towns of Cullar & Huescar and only 8 minutes drive from Galera. The historical town of Baza is only 20 minutes away. Here you can get away from it all, no traffic jams, clear mountain air, fantastic scenery, over 300 days of sunshine each year and some of friendliest people you are ever likely to me All the cave houses have been renovated to a very high standard, with extremely spacious accommodation, parking is right outside your cave and there are no steps to negotiate.

 

Cortijo Cañada Honda is within easy reach of Granada airport, approx 75 minutes away, with Murcia, Alicante & Almeria airports just over 2 hours away, Malaga airport is approx 2 hours 30 minutes drive. We are ideally situated for visiting the Nature reserves and National Parks of the Sierra de Baza, Sierra de Castril, Sierra de Cazorla and Sierra de Segura. The lakes of Negratin, San Clemente, Bolera and Potillo are a short drive away. The nearby historic towns and villages of Baza, Huescar, Cullar, Galera, Castril, Benamaurel, Luzar and Orce, offer a wealth of attractions from museums, hot springs, Arabic fortresses and Roman ruins, to numerous excellent restaurants. Cycling, walking, swimming in the lakes, horse riding, bird watching and fishing are all popular activities.

 

Alternatively you can just enjoy the relaxed pace of life under a vine covered terrace in one of the many “Tapas” bars, or just relax around our 10 x 5 metre pool, which is heated to 28°C. It iis normally open from May to October and may be used by guests between 10.00am and 6.00pm. For those of you that must see the sea, the beaches of Almeria and Murcia are approx 90 minutes drive away.
